Refurbishment of dilapidated/disused former buffet within part of a Grade II listed railway station to provide a cafeteria unit for rail passengers and the general public.
Client’s Brief
- Provide a cafeteria unit together with kitchen/preparation and staff welfare facilities
- Retain all historic features including decorative plaster cornices, deep profile skirting boards, architraves and other original mouldings
- The floors were to be fire protected from the nightclub below
- Address the issues of roof repairs and dry rot identified during the initial survey of the premises
- Install new electrics, gas heating system and ventilation
